What’s new

Your scene stays safe, and smoother streams
- The first-run wizard no longer replaces your scene: a ready-made scene is previewed first and applied only with “Use this scene”. Your previous scene is kept — bring it back in the wizard or in the scene list.
- While you are live in OBS, the studio preview draws less often and leaves the graphics card to the overlay, so the stream runs smoother. “Show” brings back the full frame rate.
- The overlay frame rate is shown in the header next to OBS; if the stream stutters, the studio points to the heaviest layers.
- You can copy the OBS link right from the header.
- The studio warns you before you close it mid-stream: without it the overlay stops reacting to music.
- Rendering: if a project is longer than your plan allows, the studio tells you before sending and offers to take a segment of the right length.
Fibers: lively transitions between forms and figures
- Switching fiber forms and figures is now smooth: strands break off one by one, fly apart and gather into the new form. Three transition styles — scatter, vortex and flow — plus a scatter distance setting.
- Transitions follow the beat: strands break off and land in pushes on every beat, and a hit throws them further.
- A fiber figure pulses on the beat.
- Switching figures no longer stutters at the start.
- Form pictures on the “Fibers: forms” lane show up again.
New Sun effect, stars and five sun styles in Synthwave
- A new Sun effect: a living star with a boiling surface, spots, a corona with streamers and prominences. Loudness raises its activity, the bass swells the glow, and a beat releases a prominence. Natural colors or your palette.
- Synthwave: a real starry sky — many faint stars, few bright ones with rays, colors from bluish to warm, twinkling and a response to the highs. Stars are switched on separately from the sun.
- Synthwave: five sun styles — stripes, glow, neon ring, eclipse and a living sun.
- Fibers: figure rotation and form switching work like Sand — choose which ones take part and whether they go in order or at random.
- The panel now shows the settings of the chosen form or option right away, without reloading the page.
- The base effect now has a “Color and lines” section with a scale that makes the effect itself larger or smaller without losing sharpness. Scale now works on every effect.
- Two new presets: “Sun · Living star” and “Sun · Neon”.
- Website: the phone version is lighter and more stable in social apps’ built-in browsers.
Keys in Clip mode, color auto shift for every effect, new fiber forms
- Keyframe diamonds ◆ in Clip mode now work reliably on every effect, and while scrubbing you can see whether there is a key under the playhead.
- Color auto shift now works on every effect, not just Sand: set the speed and an on-beat push, and layers shift along with the base.
- Fibers: new “Curtain”, “Magnet” and “Burst” forms. The figure comes three ways: fur on the silhouette, strands flowing around the outline, and filings lining up along it.
- Fiber forms over time: a “Fibers: forms” lane in Clip mode, like the sand one, with its own form or figure on each segment.
- Sand mode segments are no longer lost when you save a scene to your account.
- Two new presets: “Fibers · Magnet” and “Fibers · Logo in the stream”.
Fibers: living strands, a furry logo and color
- Every fiber is now a strand that grows along a flow field: it bends, curls and sways with the sound. Four forms — vortex, wind, grass and figure — plus an on-beat form change where strands flow rather than jump.
- A furry logo: in the “Figure” form the strands fly onto a silhouette — built-in or your own SVG/PNG — and cover it with fur that bristles along the outline.
- Color: auto hue shift like the sand has, and four ways to color — root to tip, shimmer by direction, by spectrum and scattered. A hair-like sheen gives the fur volume.
- More sound response: length from spectrum and loudness, sway from bass, gusts on beats, twist, sparks on the tips, a color flash, thickness from loudness, flow that follows BPM, and a trail.
- Five new presets. Scenes with Fibers open in the new look; the original is still there as the “Strokes” form and the “Fibers · Strokes” preset.
Spotify Canvas, seamless loop and square frames
- New frames: 1:1 square and 4:5 for the Instagram and X feed. The “Spotify Canvas” button in Render sets a 9:16 frame, an 8 s segment and a seamless loop in one click.
- Seamless loop: the last second of a clip blends into the first, so it loops with no seam or click.
- Sand in low-frame-rate clips (8–15 fps) no longer slows down — it stays in step with the music.
- Clips with a transparent background and sound (WebM) now render — previously the render failed.
- Links to our YouTube and Instagram are in the site footer.
Sand segments and your data
- Sand segments: in Clip mode, sand gets a “Sand: modes” lane. Each segment is its own mode or figure with its own silhouette, and the sand flows from one to the next exactly where you put the boundary instead of cycling on its own.
- The dashboard has a new “Your data” section: download everything Sonviz stores about you as one file, or delete your account yourself — instantly and completely, no support email needed.
- Tempo in OBS no longer drops to zero: BPM-driven effects in the overlay now run as steadily as in the studio.
- A “What’s new” list: in the studio under the “⋯” menu (a dot tells you something new has shipped), in your dashboard and on the website.
Studio: new header, search and preset gallery
- A calmer header: one indicator for Sound · OBS · frames per second, with details on click; language, search and shortcuts live in the “⋯” menu.
- Studio search: the field in the header or Ctrl+K finds any setting, preset, effect or action. Press “?” for the keyboard shortcuts.
- Effects are now picture tiles in groups; presets are a gallery with use cases and favourites.
- “Render” moved to the Clip header, and you can drop a track straight onto the Sound lane.
- “Volume” is now the first slider in Sound analysis — volume keys are set right where all the others are.
- In Live mode the bottom panel folds into a slim strip for a bigger preview. The first launch opens a ready scene that moves to a demo beat until you start your own sound.
- On a phone, the studio offers to email you a link so you can open it later on your computer.
Undo
- Ctrl+Z undoes an edit, Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y redoes it; the ↶ ↷ buttons are in the header.
- The dashboard has a “Help improve Sonviz” switch: turn off the anonymous studio activity log if you prefer.
- Privacy policy updated.
A fresh look for the studio
- The settings panel was reworked for easier navigation: tabs in a side column, scene and layer settings kept apart.
- Track volume keys right on the timeline.
- Sand: modes are grouped so they are easier to find.
- A refreshed look for the studio.
- Fixed the OBS microphone tip.
Vertical videos, 2K and 4K
- 9:16 clips for Shorts, Reels and TikTok, plus 2K and 4K; each platform’s safe zones are marked right on the frame.
Closed beta
- Sonviz opens by invitation: the studio in your browser, an OBS overlay by link, and server-rendered clips to your track.
- The Clock & timer effect: six styles from seven-segment digits to an hourglass; clock, countdown and stopwatch.
- New effects: Rays and Rings.
- Kazakh language across the website, dashboard and studio.
