01Visualizer for DJ streams

Audio visualizer for DJ streams

Graphics that move with your mix — behind a green screen or over the camera. Sonviz listens to the same audio input your OBS already streams, so any DJ software or hardware works.

How to set it up for a DJ stream

  1. Pick the input with your mix

In the studio choose “Microphone / line in” and the same input OBS uses for your mix: the controller or sound card input, or a virtual cable. Every setup is in the table below.

  2. Choose an effect and copy the link

Spectrum, 3D sphere, waves, sand, full-screen backgrounds — tune them in the studio. The link is in the studio’s “OBS link” section.

  3. Add a Browser source to OBS

Paste the link into a Browser source. For a green screen, put it under the camera and add the Chroma Key filter to the camera.

Where to take the sound from: your mix is already in OBS

Sonviz doesn’t plug into DJ software — it listens to the mix. So take the sound from the same place OBS takes it.

How your mix reaches OBS nowWhat to pick in Sonviz
An input of the controller or sound card (master recording, line in)The same input under “Microphone / line in”.
A virtual cable or VoicemeeterThe same cable as the input.
Desktop audio or application audio capture in OBSYour DJ software plays through Windows: under “Computer audio” share its window in the Chrome dialog, or use a virtual cable.
Mixer and players → audio interfaceThe interface input under “Microphone / line in”.
An ASIO input plugin in OBSChrome can’t see ASIO inputs. Route the mix through Voicemeeter or a virtual cable and pick that.

With a green screen

In OBS put the Sonviz source under the camera and add the Chroma Key filter to the camera: the graphics take the place of the green. For a backdrop pick a full-screen effect; for graphics over the camera keep the background transparent.

Why it fits DJ streams

Any DJ software or hardware

Rekordbox, Serato, Traktor, VirtualDJ or a club mixer — Sonviz hears the mix, not the app. Nothing to install into your DJ software.

On the beat

Effects follow the kick, bass, hats and tempo of the mix — the motion lands where your viewers hear it.

No lag behind the music

The studio analyses the sound on your computer and passes the result to OBS directly inside the machine, in a fraction of a millisecond.

Free for live streams

The stream overlay is free on every plan. Paid plans are only for rendering videos.

Questions

Does it work with Rekordbox, Serato and Traktor?

Yes, through the audio input. Sonviz doesn’t connect to the DJ app — it listens to the mix. If the mix reaches your computer as an input OBS can hear, the studio can hear it too. The exception is an input OBS takes through an ASIO plugin: see the table.

Can I put the visuals behind me with a green screen?

Yes. In OBS put the Sonviz Browser source under the camera and add the Chroma Key filter to the camera: the visuals replace the green screen.

Does the browser have to stay open during the stream?

Yes. The studio in Chrome or Edge listens to the sound and drives the overlay in OBS. Its window can stay behind other windows.

The studio says the input is busy. What do I do?

Windows gave the device to another app in exclusive mode. Press Win + R, open mmsys.cpl → Recording → your device → Properties → Advanced, and clear “Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device”.
