How to use the online visualizer

  1. Choose the sound

Press Microphone, or press Browser tab and share a tab that plays music with its audio switched on. The built-in beat works without either.

  2. Pick an effect

Switch between the effects under the picture. Each one is a scene made in the Sonviz studio.

  3. Take it further

Build your own scene in the studio, put it on your stream in OBS, or render it as a video for your track.

A real engine, not a preview

Real time

The picture follows the beat, the tempo and every frequency band as the music plays.

Nothing to install

It runs in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on a computer; sharing a tab’s sound needs Chrome or Edge.

Private

The sound is analysed on your device and never leaves the page.

Words on the beat

With the microphone on, the Words effect writes down what you say, in Chrome or Edge.

Questions

Is the online visualizer free?

Yes, the visualizer on this page is free and needs no account.

Why is there no sound from the tab?

When you share a tab, switch on sharing the tab’s audio in the browser’s dialog. Only Chrome and Edge on a computer can share a tab’s sound.

Can I use it on stream?

Yes — that is what the Sonviz overlay for OBS is for. Build a scene in the studio and add it to OBS as a Browser source.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, with the microphone or the built-in beat. Sharing a tab’s sound needs a computer.
